Why OPERA?

At Piva Group, we are dedicated to preserving and celebrating our cultural heritage. This commitment led us to choose a name that is deeply rooted in the legacy of our remarkable city: Verona. The Verona Opera Festival at the Arena di Verona was born on August 10, 1913, with the first performance of Aida, commissioned by the Veronese tenor Giovanni Zenatello and theater impresario Ottone Rovato to commemorate the centenary of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth. For over a century (with

the exception of two brief interruptions during the World Wars and the pandemic), every summer, the Roman amphitheater in our city transforms into the world’s largest open-air opera house.
