WARM EDGE spacer

The term warm edge describes the glass spacer of an insulating glass unit, in which the spacer between the glass panes is made of a material with low thermal conductivity. This helps reduce thermal bridging from the inside to the outside, saving energy and preventing mold formation at the edge of the glass.

STANDARD YET EXTRAORDINARY MICRO-VENTILATION

Micro-ventilation consists in an opening a few millimetres wide between the sash/leaf and frame. To activate micro-ventilation, simply turn the handle by 45°. This small mechanism was designed to change the air with minimal heat dispersion, to constantly enjoy a pleasant air recirculation without worrying about the house cooling or heating excessively.

NAIL FIN

Nail fins, also known as mounting flanges, are narrow strips attached to the exterior sides of a window. Unlike “front flanges,” which serve as trim elements, nail fins are set back from the outer edge of the window frame and can feature pre-punched holes for fasteners.

The main purpose of nail fins is to secure the window to the wall sheathing, holding it in place while shims and screws are installed. Additionally, nail fins work together with flashing and the weather-resistant barrier (WRB) to prevent water and wind infiltration, ensuring proper protection for your home.
